Spectator Mode -> Mark active player

Post by Suprano »

Hi
I specated several times and there was always on thing that disturbs me.
I never coud be sure whose ressources i am watching. The only save way, was pressing l to see what the players sees.
I think you should mark the active player in any way.. May be white Units on the minimaps or an arrow at his name or s.th. like that..
Or just an Console Message "Now watching Player4"

some sort of indicator would be nice, but did you know that you can switch between players by hitting the 1-0 keys? If you aren't certainly whether or not you are watching, say... player 7, just hit the '7' key. While you are watching a certain player, try hitting Ctrl+R (radar) or Ctrl+C (Commander), then you can be certain of who you are watching.

Using simplified minimap resolves that, but you lose colored dots.

e: From the lobby

Options>Program>Settings>Simplified minnimap colors

There is a way to test, but it is a bit of an annoying workaround;

Press the keys corresponding to the players and try and select their units; if you can select their units, you are watching that player.

What's really need is a "Now Watching Player 3 (BigSteve)" text box at the top, etc.
