It's not his mod, he just converted it to Spring and modified it a bit...Savant is the original creator, but he is too busy with different projects I.E. real games.

Optimus the reason that screenshot you posted looks so very strange is because the collision meshes for units are square, not rectangular. You know this man, you have talked about it in other threads yourself. Hit B while your doing your test and you can see why the front of the ship flys through the asteroid. I wish I could fix this myself, but it is an engine issue. I will consider lowering the asteroids a good bit. Maybe I will even attempt to get the effect Sinbad and I have discussed.

hrmph i sure know that. But i am not able to fix it. Square groundboxes would be very bad because of the wasted place and when u want to select a unit over a big other unit it may produce selecting problems.
So all we can do is make maps which dont let units look like that. I sure could increase the cruise alt, but i m unsure of how that would look. You have to zoom far away to see units and like i told in the past it looks odd when ships have to turn steep down only to shoot a ground target nearby.
Thats why i told you to make asteroids more flat. I know that its not your fault, but who cares which fault is it as long as it happens and there is a way to fix it. I dont know if the cruisealt of the fbi units are the same as the hight of the map but if so, dont make any asteroid higher than 80 or 90 (not a guarantee but i guess 90 is the lowest hight).

Edit: you can make asteroids higher, but you should give them a low steep. I dont know how low, but i guess that it should work.

I've decided to release a V2 of both my space maps with shorter asteroids. The tall ones look much better too me, but if it helps gameplay so be it. The original versions are still there anywyas.

sounds great :). And with the new method of making real 3d looking asteroids i think in the future there will be some really cool maps. Skyboxes, good gameplay and round asteroids! ;)
