Definition: 1 A word i just made up, 2 a short story about a video game or movie, often based off of things that happen in said game or movie or about the characters IN the game or move.
Now i know TA's plot line wasn't exactly...stellar but I managed to strangle half a dozen really cool idea's out of a sprawling war, cloning and an implacable enemy. Also, reading some other fan fictions (like the really well written New Blood, which i can't remember were to find, but I DO remember it was kick awesome, if a little silly), i quickly realized that writing about a Commander would be dull dull dull dull dull!
Or more accurately would be like this:

So I decided that a Commander main character was out.
Then I thought of writing about a soldier. But then i realized something. Battles are HARD TO WRITE! You have to go into excruciating, repetitive details or they are dull. You have to be fresh and think up cool things that could happen in them, or they will become dull. You have to CARE about the characters, or they will be dull. And who can care about an A.K, or a Pewee? No one, unless I create a real character behind them. But then we get back to the damn battle's, which are no fun to write. Dialog, explanations and thoughts are fun to write. And if i were to write about a foot soldier, then my story would become one battle after another. Ugh.
So then i hit on the idea of writing about a Medical Doctor (M.D) stationed on a ship, watching humains getting sent into the meat grinder day after day after day. But he would care (or not care) about them in an abstract since. Still no good.
AHA! My sex oriented brain said. Give him a girl friend. Should she pilot a Pewee? Nah...to plain. Hammer? Nah, too safe. Bomber? She's a gropo, not a flyboy for god's sake! Then i hit on it. Commander!
Then i realized how dumb an idea that was. A commander? The commander who stays at the base and never dose anything other then command! Also the character i had made up was not the kind of person who would command very well. She is a little...prickly. So then i realized it. What else could my as of yet unnamed girlfriend pilot? A sniper K-bot (can't remember the name yet). Just close enough for the fight to be in danger, just far enough away to be safe enough to survive. Huzza!
Now i got a main characters. I've got a bare bone's plot line (the TA campaign missions that is) and I've got an exotic (and sexy) girl friend. What else? More flesh round the plot...some other characters. A way to make the good guys 'bad' in some ways (Just to make it more interesting) and add in some parables.
I'm almost read to go!
But, because every one who is here LOVE'S TA (or they better) I wanted to double check with my adoring fan. Should i write a fanfic, or would i be universaly laughed at. Also if you have any idea's to flesh out the main plot line, here is were to suggest it. I might think your idea is dumb, but at least i will hear it! And if you think I should stop makeing poll's and just write the damn thing, please...vote!
