DNS problem with the Linux version ?!?

Post by Ghost Line »

Hello guys !

I've a little problem with the linux version of Spring : I've make it via the subversion file, it seem to run pretty good (I can lauch the game, choose the scenario), but after the scenario, I'm back to my shell window with this :

Spring datadir warning: No such file or directory
Info: SHUTDOWN ERROR
Error looking up server from dns.

I haven't found anything about this on the web, soooo ...

Thanks in advance for your advices !

Did you specify an address in ~/.springrc and if so, what was it?

If not, was you lo loopback interface up&running (check ifconfig output)?

Hello Tobi !

I've tried with my if adress, or with the loopback adress, without success. Of course, my interfaces are still active (I'm using it to write here, through my modem/router).

I'm running a gentoo 2.6.15 r1 #16 PREEMPT, on an Athlon XP2800+. I use the integrated lan adapter of my nforce2 motherboard.

Don't hesitate if I you want any more details !

edit: I've used 192.168.0.2, and 127.0.0.1 . I'm also using static IP and DNS, because of problem with my modem/router, a Netgear DG632.

so IP addresses don't work either?

I presume resolvconf and /etc/hosts etc. are configured properly?

Anyway, I really have no clue why it'd throw that error if your internet/intranet works fine normally.
