A Suggestion

Post by PicassoCT »

On a Map with deformable Terrain, Tanks and Hovercrafts get useless very fast ... and nobody uses the Ability of Construction Vehicles to restore the Map- except in Case of an Emergency...

Would a Unarmed Unit or a Specialnanowarhead make Sence, whose only Purpose is to restore large pieces of Terrain?
Or would a Option for a very slow selfreturning-to-Original Height Level Terrain be better ?

pff, imo. we dont have enough deformations!

To add extra spice and lag to all maps, I would like all heavy units tracks to actually deform the ground slightly. Not to mention lvl 3 Kbots, they would all make nice deformations when walking along on soft ground.

Now imagine the possibilities of your pewees hiding in former footsteps in an ambush waiting for those krogs to come along!

Ok, Im getting tired now. Ill go sleep instead

My real point was that I like craters since it adds an extra dimention to the game! And besides, its a good indication that you are attacking one piece of your enemies frontline to much and that you need to attack from another direction

Might add to the usefulness of hovercraft, if perhaps, they were not as effected as other vehicles. Just say they operate on a principle of antigravity, rather than pockets of air. Then, let hovercraft glide over the distorted terrain...

or maybe have their calculations work different... average the height difference over a larger area... that way it could pass over pits and dents without being able to go up steep cliffs...

i agree with doxs, we dont have enough maps that can be deformed. i remember played core prime industrial area and thinking it was the coolest thing to find deformable terrain. it was a pain to get tanks through but theres reasons we have units like the spider and aircraft. besides, most kbots can traverse terrain thats at a slope.
