the info in the faq doesn't make sense (starting skirmish)

Hello, I want to start a skirmish game and so I do what the FAQ tells me to do and run spring.exe, but I never get the option to host since all it does is ask me to test some scripts. What can I do?

You better get latest Ntai, and install it.

It comes with the surprising SpringSP.

SpringSP is a frontend for spring, that lets you generate skirmishes and stuff like that.

This will probably be repaced with the new gui's functionality in later releases of spring.

Of course NTAI isn't the only AI available, JCAI comes with spring, its not that good but its authentic from the SY's themselves, so its always compatible. OTAI is supposed to be very good, but it dosn't work for me. AAI is the one I reccomend, you can find them in the AI section in this forum.

But only NTAI comes with SpringSP, which is why mongus recommended it. Plus, JCAI is no longer being developed by anyone, so compatibility is not insured. But NTAI is, as LOrDo said, so take your pick of AI's if NTAI isnt up to scratch.
