Cannot switch to vs.net debugger after crash anymore :(

Post by submarine »

since spring 0.7 i've got the following problem:

if aai crashes i used to switch to vs.net to have a look at the debugger.
this helped me solving most issues quickly. unfortunately i cant do this
anymore because the window of the crashed spring stays always on top - the
only thing i can do is killing the task, but of course then there's no
process to attach the debugger to anymore :(

does anybody know a possible solution?

otherwise i either have to stop working on aai or downgrade to 0.67b3

Could you run spring in a small window?

is it possible with the release version?

the debug version of spring runs in windowed mode, but it is far too slow to be playable with other (ai) players and many units. i can switch to another window when as long as spring has not crashed. but after a crash, the spring window stays in foreground no matter what i do :(

in settings.exe there's "Run in fullscreen mode", remove checkmark from that

lol i must have been blind :)

i was looking for that all yesterday evening long...

but this means that any ai dev will have to run spring in windowed mode to be able to debug - why did it work with the old version? is this an sdl related issue?

hmm i tried it out - it works but:

i cant move the mouse courser to the bottom, it suddenly "jumps" out of the window

everytime i want to debug i have to attach the process manually at the beginning. all unexpected crashes will be lost that way :(

There have some other focus related issues reported, maybe this will get fixed at the same time.
