Wth, I have unitinstalled reinstalled and so on... still getting the error, I am going to restart to see if it fixes it...

I believe that happens in unitsnyc.dll, the new tdf parser is more strict and will crash if it finds some strange map/mod I think, try removing some old mods/maps to see if it helps.

Going into TASpring\Maps\paths and deleting all of the files in the folder fixed it for me.

I already deleted them, and I still have the problem. And I also tried moving every data file that wasn't added by the installer to where they can't have an effect.

Got it, ima try and figure out which one was the culprit. which mod/map. Currently I only have AA 1.44 and River Dale on it... and it works.

Any mod or map with a ufo file used will potentally cause crashes. I purged most of my old mods to make it work, however all my old maps I left. Also apparently crash causing stuff can be left over in your registry info, although I'm not entirely postive of how sure I am of that, apparently purging the sy and spring client folders in the registry have helped for some people.
