What really would be cool, if you could build some jamed invisible Advanced Construction Unit that is storedhidden in some far away Underground Popup Bunker, and is "born" when ur Base really gets into trouble (nearly defeated, Under Heavy BerthaFire) and that really fast rebuilts a Base with Metall & Energy that were stored within, before everything went to hell. This walking Switzerland Bank Acount could save some days..

this isn't a very good idea imo. if you're dying, there is no way you're going to be able to come back enough to win. once youre losing , just take the loss. there are always other games to play. no point in dragging out the battle any longer than it should be. if you're playing with friends and messing around itd be fun but this seems like a really unbalanced unit

2 problems...
1- how would it determine you are losing? a % of buildings lost?
2- what stops someone from triggering that % early on, by building like 20 wind generators, and then either a- blowing them up, or b- giving them to an ally? thus giving the guy a HUGE advantage over the enemy...

it could make a really cool commander unit in a new mod/army... wide area of build effect, ability to make all basic building within it's starting area, but unable to move... so you could start near some mex patches, builds a starting base (porc style), then starts guarding it's factories which would build units to start expansion, would let people get started on a solid infrastructure before having to expand, but would require careful use of starting space and sufficient deffenses (also need to be carefule to space out volotile buildings) because it would be your commander and be stuck inone place for people to nuke...

probable... prolly not.. the AI is bad enough as is... and it'll just make for more whiners when team a's commie builds a base with its stockpile of resources.. and team b builds a factory, then guards it, and rushs like 400 flash tanks to suprise the other player... knowing where the commie is, and blowing EVERYTHING up in one pass....
it'll just start flame wars... frankly... a construction unit thats cloakable... is interesting... I could do with that...
but this "second chance stuff" ... is kinda hard to not knock down... it just makes long games take longer... urgh
This would be qute a complicated unit to make. Sounds nice..... but it would get to annoying for me. My enemy having me to wonder why I haven't won yet and to my surprise a perfectly fine base sitting right there. But how would you have enough resources to rebuild a whole base? And now your commanders gone. Eh... I don't feel like typing anymore..
