Should registered names work similarly to aim, where names aren't case sensitive, but you can format them as you please?

I would certainly want my Capital A and F, user customisation is important even if it's small

I'm more referring to the question of... should alantai be different than Alantai when you log in to the server?

haha, no color, as of yet. actually, the only reason there is no text coloring in the lobby right now is because i haven't figured out how to do it without changing the text of a whole box. if anyone knows how to do it with .net controls easily, shout out! i don't want to code up my own control just for that unless i have to. it means you get it sooner :)

This one is simple to me. There cannot be two diferent users, one with jouninkomiko and the other with Jouninkomiko.

The question of the poll is not very clear though.

Also, more important questions would be:
- Would it be possible to make JoUNiNkoMIko or just lower case ones.

- And would it be possible to use special characters? Like «!#$? That tends to lead to
- j0un1nk0m1k012
- »4ra6orn«

the intent of the poll was weather aim-style naming is what you all want. that means, a login of JouninKomiko is the EXACT same as jouninkomiko. when you login, you can change the formatting of your name so long as the letters are the same. ie capitalize some letters.

OR. do you want JouninKomiko and jouninkomiko to be two separate users.

Furthermore, I'm not going to allow special characters, because of the potential for abuse, but numbers are fine.

You should really allow some speciall characters. People in clans often like to have the clan names in [ ] or whatever is popular nowdays.

I dont think you should try to add colors to the chat 98% of the time its used for spam and being annoying.

Allowing diffferent users with just different capitalization would also only be used to annoy/dupe ppl most of the time. Make the login case insensitive and make everyone use the capitalization on their names they used when creating the account,

yeah i definitely agree with you sj. as far as special characters are concerned, that is the topic of my next poll! I was thinking of only allowing special characters for the clan prefix, but not in the registered name itself.

Yes, that's what I'd like.

As for color, I don't think allowing user to use them freely is a good idea, most of the time colored text is either not used or used in annoying way. But, like on other place, maybe special people like admin could have color, or information message could be colored differently than chat, and, well, just like it's done elsewhere.

Yes, different colors for admins/devs/mods.

Does that mean the client has some kind of built in clan support? That would be cool... even if its very limited.
