playtesting maps under development

Post by eronoobos »

What do you do, if anything? I was trying to playtest an update to Cattle and Loveplay, and it was surprisingly difficult to avoid sync errors. The only thing that worked was to make a .sd7, temporarily move the .sdd out of my maps directory, and have both of us use the .sd7. In my mind the ideal method is to have the other player(s) git clone into a .sdd, which is what we tried first. Has anyone done that successfully?

Never tried, but could this be the problem, that the hidden repository files change the checksum? Or do you mean sync errors in the game after a while of playing?

Ah, that's probably it. Spring probably doesn't consider files starting with "." any different. No, these were unsynced in the lobby.

I think you are looking for this http://imolarpg.dyndns.org/trac/balates ... ignore.txt, which you can include in the base dir of the sdd, afaics it would also work for maps.
