BOTA team
Could someone also add me to the Basically OTA team? It only contains quanto, I and ismo grabbed the last code by him and cleaned it up, it's now working with spring 98 but needs access to rapid. This was delayed because we couldn't decide whether to use svn or git. Seems that now that GC is closing it should use git anyway.
I tried messaging quanto but he hasn't replied in a year or so. Meanwhile the mod is maintained by me and "ismo", if someone else needs access to repo you can ask us. But we would like to be able to post news about this mod too.

Re: BOTA team
Sure it has, there is no longer any BOTA team I think.Jools wrote:Spam post but 4 months and nothing has happened.
Re: BOTA team
The OP clarifies that there is.

Re: BOTA team
How is that relevant?
Stop stalling. The first post defines the team and there are no counterclaims. Just fix the administrative stuff already.

Fix this then. The small descriptors e.g. 'S44 Developer' are now handled solely by 'Ranks' and are purely cosmetic.
Re: BOTA team
please rephrase your request, there isn't a BOTA team any more.Jools wrote:Just fix the administrative stuff already.
Re: BOTA team
Ok, Create a BOTA team with me and ismo in it. Quite simple.
Re: BOTA team
simple answer: no.Jools wrote:Ok, Create a BOTA team with me and ismo in it. Quite simple.
i can only guess what you want to do: to create release posts, you need moderator rights. for getting the "tag" next to your name, you need the rank, but idk if one person can have multiple ranks.
Re: BOTA team
Why should the BOTA team not be able to create release posts? I consider this a basic requirement of any spring project, please elaborate.
Re: BOTA team
Of course you can have multiple ranks:

Re: BOTA team
you don't understand, there is no "bota team" group in the forum any more. to write a release post on the frontpage atm you need to be in one of the moderator groups and a lot of people are against giving you moderator permissions.Jools wrote:Why should the BOTA team not be able to create release posts? you still can ask someone with the rights to write the post. I don't see why we waste a lot of time in creating a dedicated group and give permissions this group to write only about releases. make a few release posts and politely ask if someone with the permissions can post it to the frontpage.
if this works then we maybe can give you permissions to directly post. but for a single release post, this is overkill.
Re: BOTA team
But you made all the trouble *removing* the BOTA group, remember the OP post states that it contained Quanto. Surely, in this process it would not have been overkill to replace the membership with the current team.
Why would it not work having a BOTA team just like it works to have a S44 team? The mod is fully functional with spring 98, it just awaits these administrative hurdles.

Re: BOTA team
because its not clear what the "bota team" wants to do. see the xta forum. Why would it not work having a BOTA team just like it works to have a S44 team?
just clarify what you want to do / do some work and then you maybe get help. its not that moderators/admins are bored and search for work.

Re: BOTA team
There is no "BOTA team" group anymore, or for any other game/project. There is a single group for content developers and game specific teams are conferred by ranks - making them purely cosmetic pieces of text and meaning that individuals cannot have more than one. This was explained in viewtopic.php?f=14&t=33523. If you are still confused, read the phpbb faq faq.php#f1r7.Surely, in this process it would not have been overkill to replace the membership with the current team.
So, if you want to publicly express your support/work on BOTA, you should request to change your rank from XTA mantainer to BOTA maintainer/developer/whatever, or to include some reference to BOTA.

Actually you can't, that is a single rank as it happens that myself and Spiked both were S44 devs as well as MCL. Software limitation.
