noob game question.

Post by jolt8me »

I've been watching replays of my games. I noticed everyone has their units that make buildings making everything. 6 or more trucks around and airport helping to make planes. 8 construction planes making tank after tank. I know they arent issueing commands after each unit is built. so how do they do that?

u set a unit to guard the factory and it will help whatever it builds.. also i think if you make a con bot guard a unit it will repair it though i havnt tried it but ive seen it done but im not 100% sure of it

if you make a con bot guard another con bot/commander they will help in anything it builds

and finally (again ive seen it done but never come accross a sutuation where it would help) i think if you make a con bot patrol it will help build anything in its path =]

the two useful 1's tho are making a con bot guard a con bot and make a con bot guard a factory

That is correct. A con unit guarding another unit or factory will repair the unit or factory if it gets damaged.

if you are playing a mod with nano-towers and assign them to patrol (just set a fake destination) they will repair/help build anything in range which is acctally very useful, for example, you can have your units patrol within their range and they will be partially repaired whenever they walk by, if any buildings are contructed within their range they will help, if a unit is damaged, you can send them in the direction of your nano tower farm and they will repair them automagically.

In the early Kuro TA and and AA when nano towers were cheap and had wide range, you could basically fly a plane near your nano farm and it would repair it in a couple seconds, elimination the need for repair pads, meanwhile, putting a repair pad near a nano tower would bassically signifigantly improve the efficiency of the pad, and putting nano towers throughout your base would automatically repair damage from shells before the next one hit... I stopped playing as much when they "fixed" nano towers...

I'm not sure if it matters, really, but I also use "repeat on" when I have nanotowers on 'patrol.'
