No games, no maps
After installation I naturally also retrieved some games and some maps. But they do not show up in the lobby dropdowns.

I have had and played Spring RTS before. I have installed, uninstalled, deleted, removed and re-downloaded all this but nothing works. Some of the threads I visited prior to this last ditch effort described a scattered systems with some files here and some files there and perhaps the game doesn't know where the game is?
Certainly this isn't anything like that. The above seems to know where the lobby is. It knows what I clicked on. There are no strange characters involved. I tried deleting the springlobby.conf and it made a new one that didn't work just like the old one.
I see that Current unitsync: and Current spring executable: are blank. Is that a problem?
I can get into the data directory and start the game via the executable, its just the lobby that seems to be broken.

Yes. The lobby uses unitsync to determine where it should look for games/maps/etc. See https://springrts.com/wiki/Read_Me_First.I see that Current unitsync: and Current spring executable: are blank. Is that a problem?
