Insider view on how nvidia driver works with games

Found this comment from someone who worked at NVidia.
So it turns out it's great to be a big AAA studio - NV will fix your errors for you, driver-side. ATI does the same. Kind of explains why opensource ATI driver is not up to proprietary one in games department.

It's also why we can expect the new (Linux) OpenGL drivers (although proprietary) to get better as SteamBox/SteamOS get more traction.
I'm personally OK with that :)

You are aware, that reverse engineering this monstrosity is basically impossible, and that thus many old games that are using those drivers, will be unplayable - for ever?
Its a tragedy.

Also +1 on posting. But did read before. Experience Points linked to it.
