Displays map info at bottom left corner when zoomed in on the area, else its fades out.

very cool. Also how are you beyond the map edge and it goes to infinity

Oh I don't know. I guess rendered below it still. So invisible.

I've included a "/mapinfo_floor" command that puts the info right beside the map edge instead of water level.

Definitely cool.
I've always thought object space UI elements looked sleek, like this or a pop-up above units with stats for example. It has potential for a much more dynamic/interactive use of limited space. This will be especially true when VR/HMDs are common.

Some other things I think might look nice in object space (correct terminology?)
- Countdown until match begins, or any countdown for that matter, floating in the middle
- Match info such as 2v2, chickens, mission, etc. at the top of the map

Seems I might have to do some reading through your widget, and see if I can learn a thing or two.
