Shin Gundam Musou will be coming out to english language!

Shin Gundam Musou was released on December 19, 2013 in Japan for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita,[10] and will be released in North America and Europe in Summer 2014 as Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn. The Western release, however, will be only for PlayStation 3 and only a digital-download release for North America.
Seems like the USA distribution being shutdown WILL effect gundam games in the future. Oh well, will have to get it from the EU!

They are changing the visuals for the knight gundam I don't like them

they are droping the gorgeous cellshading because they want more units on the screen. I call bullshit. It is because they want it available for the PSvita.. I cannot wait until they stop that shit.

It will feature MORE gundam seed(GROAAAAAAAAAAN) but at least I get the gnquan.. wait what? NO! that is stupid. The quan is NOT for combat. Why are we not getting the exia repair? That suit was all about the brawling in combat.

Oh well! we get to play as a mobile armor. Personally, I look forward to punting seed suits in my BIGZAM!

I played Gundam Crossfire, but controls weren't so good and many other issues with that game.

I been playing DW Gundam 3 more recently. Many gundam choices are nice, but I didn't get to see some of the mobiles suits that I would've like to see such as GN Flags, some variation of GM mobile suits like snipers, etc. Addition of mobile armor seems nice. I really liked the final mobile armor from the 08th MS team that can blow the whole mountains away.

There is need for a macro to play Dynasty Warrior Gundam series, so much repetitive button press that my fingers hurts.

Been playing it a good few hours. Mostly started on hard because well the first few missions are for people who never played these.

First thing.

They took the combat system and added a new item to it, the charged shot(like megaman yes) so if you time it right this adds an extra element to the combo attack!

Second thing.

they added back the story levels and junked the crap objective based levels from 3. The new levels no only say, MEH to the original canon but add all kids of elements that enhance gameplay. been in jaburo for 30 minutes straight and loving every second of it.

Third thing.

grunt suits are unlocked as you continue to make combos, there is a whole card system that basically accrues bonuses as you play.

Fourth thing.
the partner strikes are amazing, I actually can have white base fly in and barrage them with it's forward missile array! In the case that you do a partner strike with ally that is a mech, you do your super attack THEN THEIRS! OMG! OMG! SO AWESOME CHAINING THESE.

If you even remotely liked the past 3. this is so far, the best of them. I have no idea how hard the final levels are, that is another oh, probably 100-200 hours away for me. DW:Gundam 2's final levels get rage inducingly hard... if this one is anything like that. MAN so looking forward to it.

So far, I am still loving this game. The expanded shooting game in it means even enemies will still take pot shots at you. I actually liked the seed destiny levels because for a majority of them I get to kill kira over and over. I also really like the seed suits they added. The addition of the seed suits added a lot to the game ans so far my only disappointment comes from the crossbone x1 kai dlc. He has a kicking dash attack which makes no sense. Either way, so far I really like it. The missions have a lot of variety and honestly with me cheesing it to hurry along(aka choosing the easy mode suit and just hamming it through the levels to unlock stuff) I am 45 hours in and still have ample to do.

The great

The missions
so like before a mission was 1 level with a specific goal. No longer. Each mission is a mini story with at the very least a few alternate paths. After completing the mission, you will be able to play through as though you never beat it(outside of the already unlocked goals being unlocked). OR you can go back and play specific levels to unlock something.

unlocks
Gone are the days of requiring a printout from gamefaqs and running through different levels doing a damn scavenger hunt. There is a "card" system that tells you exactly the level and mission to get whatever you want unlocked. SO NICE. you can view the cards at any time outside of levels.

you don't have to fuck with that obnoxious friendship system. They removed it. BOOM! YES!

Combat system
Level 2 musou!!!!!
they moved the the combo musou to the level 2 musou. So if your character is level 30, it can do a sort of super musou by holding the musou button and charging it.

Partner strikes
These are now part of the rage bar mechanic.

Rage bar
new feature, each pilot has a different type of effect when setting off their rage bar. Some will slowly heal others will do more damage or everything slows down but them. The bar slowly depletes. If you have a partner selected, you can at any time choose to end it with a paired musou. if you are in the air you both do your air musou and the ground musou gets ground musou. Choosing the right partner is important as it is like you do yours, then they come in and do theirs.

Shooting
Like before and unlike any other musou, you have a ranged attack that is easily fired. HOWEVER, unlike before, if you hold the shoot button down, it charges for a new type of attack, meaning: DASHCOMBO hold shoot the whole time, release shoot after dash combo results in a combo including the shot. It isn't fidgety like I thought it would be. For the most part, it means shooting base characters can become the same sort of wrecking balls as the melee centric characters for once. Oh man, amuro showing up in your field and going apeshit with beam rifle shots wrecks you on higher difficulties.

Mobile armors
Probably the weakest/neatest new feature. I think that it is awesome that we now can do missions as mobile armors. It is awesome but because they are all new, they have a limited moveset which doesn't befit their massive weapons arrays. However, with all DW series, this has a great potential to be expanded upon so if they make a dw:5, I am going to be looking forward to it.

Movement changes
for the most part dashing is the same and still the better alternative to blocking. However, now instead of an upwards boost, you can actually fly upwards and hover.. SO COOL. fly up and blast the grunts!

The not great

FPS
several reviews mention fps drops. These do happen on the rare occasion that your suit is surrounded by 100s of suits blowing up while you kick off your rage musou and generally are filling the screen with eye crack. it isn't a big deal but some of you fps snobs give a shit about when it happens 1 or 2 times so there.

The game disk
The US doesn't get a game disk and the EU disk requires you to use the EU store to buy shit. The reason being is bandai isn't bothering anymore with the USA and their IP/distribution. So pretty much US gundam fans better pucker your anus, we are going back to the late 90s where gundam was non-existant in the usa. So people have to download it to their HD.

Before someone asks, this decision of theirs was a factor in why I shut grts down.

The unknown
multiplayer
None of my friends have their ps3s and honestly I don't know any gundam fans who have this game to begin with

So yeah, again, if you liked ANY of the prior dynasty warriors games. you SHOULD get this game and go into beast mode.

So far best gundam games:

1) Gundam 0081 - ps3(only menus in english)
2) Ms Sen Sen - (Wii only JAP)
^ these 2 games are superior to rise from the ashes in, every, way.

3) Dw gundam: reborn(aka shin musou) ps3(only english translated)
4) SD Gundam: Gashapon Wars - (Wii only JAP)

Honorable mention:
Gundam wing endless duel(Snes only jap)
