another addict here

I wish there was a bit more complexity towards it like different religious gods with different beneficts. Gold mines a more complex trade system, different hapiness buildings, more map diversity.

Its like a simpler version of the old city building games like pharaoh or Caeser.

Pharoh had chalenges to rush monuments before X year and houses progressed and evolved.

But still banished has some cool uniques things to it, ive put maybe more than 6 to 7 hours into it, its my 5th city xD

I played ~20 hours in the first two days.

I'd like to see expansion towards industry, factories, steam engines and railroads.

i would like to see fertile and infertile land, floods, different types of stone lime stone plain stone etc, or even exotic wood types!

ok i must stop, its been a loong time since ive played a city builder!

but the fact buildings cost resources to build and not just plain gold is a feature i love compared to old city builders.

The charm is in the simplicity of the resource model.

fuck this shit man,

every time, I get a city to 80-90 people, all is well, then suddenly the food which in previous years with like 5 less population, had a surplus of 7000 (actually had to raise the limit from 5 to 7 thou), drops to 0, enter mass starvation and dieoffs, i get left with 40 people plus some kids BUT THEY REFUSE TO MOVE TOGETHER SO PEOPLE STOCKPILE MOUNDS OF FOOD WHILE THEIR NEIGHBORS ARE STARVING BECAUSE THEY CANNOT FORM NEW FAMILIES AND BECAUSE OF THE MASS STARVATION I HAVE A LOT OF ONESIES

probably a surprisingly accurate simulation of colonial life, if you think about jamestown and the rest, but god it is so annoying.

All this on easy mind you, in a mild climate.

Oh yeah, add to all this a fire mechanism where your citizens only start putting out fires if they dont have a job, and fires spread and consume everything anyway so the best thing is to just leave out the space for fireblocks and let whatever part of town caught fire die off.

Again, probably realistic given firefighting measures at the time, but not fun.

Turn off disasters if you want an easy ride.

Stockpiled food is only a buffer, it is no guarantee of anything.

The 7000 food is nothing in comparison to what your people actually consume, it's merely the accumulated excess - however small it may be. Build a town hall to see the statistic.

It's more like dwarf fortress. Only above ground, no pickaxe, no invasions, only wood, final destination.
