V95 : Linux & DualScreen

Post by FabriceFABS »

Hi !
Since V95, no way to play correctly Spring on dual screen mode, with minimap on full left-screen and game on the right one.

SystemSetting, not changed from years :

SpringSettings1

SpringSettings2

Seems loading correctly (always had loading game on right screen)

To Finally fail...

The right screen is bugged, a sort of mix from minimap & screenplay.

I already tried to start from beginning by erasing

Code: Select all

/.config/springspringsettings.cfg
I'm ready to do some tests.
Did I make something wrong ?
Some1 with dual screen could help me to have this again ?

I have a dual screen, but I never knew Spring could effectively be played with it. I'll check it when I get home.

Minimap on the left is broken for dualscreen. Don't use it. Won't get fixed.

Oh no... :(
Why ? Why this is not supported anymore ?

Playing fullscreen minimap is awesome due to very good precision to control all the game and it also so useful to use it for controlling units.

Would be interesting to know if there technical reasons (api does not provide a way to use it), hardware reasons (devs don't have two monitors), dev interest in the feature or something else. I tried to check the changelog/source and could not find anything that would explain this.

Und dann :
(16 days ago, 2nd Nov. 2013) After many years in development, SDL 2.0 has finally been released!
Of course, making use of it for spring doesn't sound anything like a walk in the park.

(actual release was earlier, but the wiki page was authored on 2.11)
