Your link is wrong, and "hand-drawn" means "lolproportions".

I gotta say, the gals in this game are really thick and curvy. I wonder if that's a deliberate stylistic choice? I mean, it's obviously novel, considering how most women in videogames are either waifs or swimsuit models.

The video didn't really show much interesting/innovative gameplay, so it's hard to say what's being kickstarted besides "combat-heavy platformer about a lady with a nice round tuckus who gets long-winded briefings from a too-smiley officer with a serious face/body mismatch".

Which is fine, but not something I'd plonk money down for.

The art for briefing-woman is decidedly below-par for the Skullgirls folks. She just looks... wrong.

watch the other videos, they have a pretty good megaman esq walljump going already etc. of course people were happy to fund PA with NO gameplay just an FMV.. so why NOT?

because PA showed the vision of something new, something that hasn ´t been tried in that way before... yeah it was just a vision, no proof that it actually will work, while this has megaman and co to point at and say: "remember this? that was fun wasnt it? we will do that with a new IP and some new art... so great, no?" It will work like they intend it to work because it already worked in the past, so if you think you will get a megaman/metroid esque experience with that, you probably wont regret the investment. But that doesn´t mean that PA was wrong to simply advertise with its very new concept. It could have failed, thats of course the risk. But it doesn´t mean its wrong to take risks with projects like that and just test if people actually have any interest in the idea before develop parts of the game.

Don´t get me wrong, dont say that this game isn´t worth funding... but putting PA in your argument as a " well ppl funded this ... so why wouldn´t they fund that?" sounds like PA was worse for being less fleshed out.

Probably just the PA fanboy in me ranting here, but I think your reasoning for this game isn´t supported by that statement. The video doesn´t show anything that made me think "thats new and exciting", and the other vids were not that great either.

What clearly speaks for the game from my point of view is the megaman feeling I got from that. And megaman like gameplay on pc with a fresh IP? Thats a seller, not the state of the product right now counts, but the Idea behind it, the vision for the finished product. If you don´t trust the people to actually try to reach their goal for the project you shouldn´t fund them regardless of the demo content they present.

So, the game is looking promising, I won´t pledge right now, but keep an eye on their youtube-account.

Soo... thanks for bringing that to our attention smoth... thats cool and all ... nothing wrong with that, no sir... ... ...

Sorry if this post is a bit convoluted, I´m a bit drunk.

I like what I saw of the brief in game side scrolling. If I had money I may have donated.
