Facts:
Everybody who joins in the progress has to read through all previous stuff.
Personal opinions "decay" by get hidden in a lot of posts if these users don't post a lot.
Threads tend to get stuck in some unimportant comments which result in sub-threads.
Thus I think forums and linear discussions are not the best way to communicate about developement/changes or make peoples feel that they make progress if they work together just per forum discussion.
Idea:
So I think what we need is non-linear of communication - like:
A thread has a head/topic-element and user-elements.
There is 1 user-element for each user.
* It contains the users current oppinion - whenever there is a severe change to it, it get moved to the last/newest-position and the edit date is updated.
* Up/Down-votes (if any) are set to default +1/-0 (+1 for the poster)
* (See all...) opens a new page (maybe iframe) with all user statements/opinions to that topic.
The user-statements can have comments from others
* If there are enough it creates a sub-topic.
* Users can edit their things - answers to it will get marked as "old"/"pre-edit".
* On edits you can choose the severity "correct just a miss-spelled word" or "change the meaning" - which changes wether posters of answers are notified.
Answers:
I would like everybody to answer just a few Questions in the 1st post:
1: do you think the facts are true?
2: do you think we need something "like this" idea
2.1: -> if yes: is this a good way to do it?
3: is it worth the effort?
Non-Linear "threads" to reduce clutter - or as a dev-tool?

You can make a post asking for a moderator to split a topic, if you think its appropriate.

There is insufficient clutter on this board for it to be worthwhile.
