anti nuke miss target

Post by albator »

41 min: 9 nukes from blu target a place (red) : 3 anti respond with 3 anti each:

8 reach targets, the last one failed

Dunno if that belongs to bug or BA...

Can't see replays since they are broke on win.

But antinukes do fire and sometimes fail to catch their target missile, if they are trying to curve towards it and don't have enough time, especially near the edge of antinuke range or if its the last one of multiple antis to be fired.

This is known, has been happening for years. I don't mind it, it provides another crease to prevent functional stalemate. It does have to do with trajectory intercept, can't remember the details. Not really a bug.

I think what albator means is that it is fail because this bug could be resolved with having the better located anti launching 4 instead of 3 missiles. (Assuming it had stocked more than 3 missiles) cant view demo either.

As i see it it is a bug and not a funny side effect (assuming that another antinuke could still intercept that last nuke but was holding back because there were already 9 anti missiles sent)

@floris: yes that can happen; the engine controls which antinuke fires when there is a choice. Imho its a cute bit of randomness, but I'm sure not all would share that view.
