The only historic game that comes to mind is Spring 1944.

I don't think there are any Spring (good) video tutorials that can help you with creating a game. Most are about modeling, texturing and other general art stuff.

By "historic" do you mean the dark ages, knights, castles, like Age of Empires?
Nobody made such a game in Spring yet, but it is possible.
