Dgun slowfire

"Notice how long it takes for it to fire, and then its not relevant anymore and I cancel by giving a move order"

Why does it take so long and why should it?

I tried with Spring 94.1 and BA 7.75 and couldn't reproduce this.

Maybe I've not seen correctly because the video almost too low-res, but it looks to me like the period where it has the order and isn't firing is very short, like 1/3 of a second. There is nothing in a clean BA install to delay dgun firing (it will even fire regardless of ground level) so my best guess is network lag or failing that its something to do with cpu lag/mt order queueing/non-BA lua.

I heard once that spring updates aiming once a second.

I think it was a thread about LLTs firing more accurate at air if you slow down game speed.

Maybe that can be lowered to 1/3 second.

It would be good if you could force aiming for manual attacks, return fire and actual target (fired at some time ago)

That shouldn't spend too much cpu time^

This is the default engine behaviour.
