alt+# with azerty (french) key

I want to use auto group widget. I am using a french (azerty) keybord and it looks like the alt+# (number) are not working.

I made a modification so group can be selected in my uitkey. But I am stuck since I dunno what is the command to assign alt+# to ...alt+#...

Anyone managed to deal with this issue ?
afair, there was a modify version of that widget that use to exist but it was like 4 years ago and I cannot put my hand on it since I have not reconfigure this widget since that time.
