Dragon's Dogma opinions?

Although it's not really brand new anymore, I played the demo for Dragon's Dogma last night and really got into it. Has anyone here tried this game out? Any opinions to give?

I poked into it online and it seems to be a classic example of a game that starts off really strong but then kind of peters out.
