SMOTH

A bit OT here but I am planning a trout farm remake... Can you model those satellite dishes for me?

If you're on ts tonight I'll talk to you about it then.

Don't get me wrong, its a good idea, just I hoping we don't ge ta slew of "look i used features" maps, all with the same stuff in them.

Everyone seems to miss interpret what I type nowadays, or is it just me that thinks that?

well it would be the same story as what was in ota. You have set features and those of us who can't model for shit have to beg (see my above post) for features.

Smoth taught me a little bit about textures and models the other night. He musta spend about 6 or 7 hours with me that night, helping me out.

I wonder... Would it be possible to set up a group of modelers for the specific purpose of making features for mappers? That would be really cool. We mappers could also cater to the ideas of modelers for maps. I personally have quite a few projects on my plate, as well as an ongoing project with smoth and decimator.

Btw smoth, another note... I wanted to talk to you about gundam a bit whenever possible. Me and deci had some ideas for it that would improve it quite a bit (we think anyway ;P up to you to decide).

Back OT... Agorm that is likely to happen, however, most experienced mappers will use the features in a way that is particular to the map, making them look like they belong there.

not a problem pm me your ideas and I will look into getting them in.

Also, I can take a look at doing that. PLEASE if you are redoing trout fard see if those buildings will work. I think this would be a good start for the later project we have planned. If possible maybe we can get some extra models I.E. Skyscraper type stuff for the map.

If your think of making a groupe of feature makers, would it not make sence to have it as part of teh Map Makers Guild? As a subsection. Half the feature makers would be mappers anyway, and so it would surly make sence. Plus it mean that everything would be in the one place. You know, a one stop shop for what you need, be it advice, features, tools, ideas, opinions, whatever.

not that simple. I want to get it as a part of spring. that way the work is acessable to anyone who downloads spring and if they would be a standard feature then the people would only have to download them once vs having to add them into every map.

You mean get them added permanently...

If thats the case, maybe they should be included like the current 8 tree's. That layer is current so under used because it has 8 trees and a geo, and you cant put anything else on it. If they are gonna be included I would suggest adding them into that layer. Also, we can moddel new and more tree's at he same time.

BTW... I may be able to do a few bits and bobs... if I can scavange some time.
