Can't connect even with firewalls disabled
As topic, it used to work, I then installed Windows 7 and the latest Spring and now it just won't connect. Tried connecting with both the Windows firewall and router's firewall disabled and still no joy!
Any ideas?!

Re: Can't connect even with firewalls disabled
Could you be more specific about what your problem is?
What can't you connect too: Does the lobby client not connect to spring server, do you fail to connect to multiplayer games, do you have problems connecting when you're trying to host?
Do you get an error message and if so what is it?

Re: Can't connect even with firewalls disabled
I can connect into the lobby fine, join games no problem, it's just when the game launches it fails to connect to the server. So no error messages, just failing to connect. I immediately thought it must be a firewall issue but disabling both made no difference.
Re: Can't connect even with firewalls disabled
attach infolog.txt please...
Re: Can't connect even with firewalls disabled
Just checked it, it hasn't updated since June so won't be particularly illuminating.
What else could block it?

Attach infolog. It gets re-written every time you start a game.
So this:

Wait a second... Clarify this post. Because it sounds like you can join games that are already in progress just fine.
Do you mean that you can connect to the lobby, join the battleroom, but anytime a game launches you get left behind?
Re: Can't connect even with firewalls disabled
So I'm in the lobby, I can connect into a battleroom with other people but when the game starts or I join an already started game it loads spring.exe but just times out as if I have a firewall blocking the traffic.
The infolog.txt file hasn't changed since the last time I successfully played which was June, I assume that only gets updated if it connects in the game?
In that time I've upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7, nothing else has changed hardware wise. So it's either the latest Spring being buggy or more likely I have a third firewall in Windows somewhere? Driving me nuts!

There's the file but I don't see how it can help.

what does that mean?it loads spring.exe but just times out as if I have a firewall blocking the traffic.
the infolog.txt shows no error, it looks like it worked.
Re: Can't connect even with firewalls disabled
As I said, the info log is from June not now. The spring.exe initialises but fails to connect to a server in game.
Re: Can't connect even with firewalls disabled
even then it creates a new infolog.txt!
Re: Can't connect even with firewalls disabled
They weren't updating and that made me realise what the problem was. All working now!
The security permissions on the folder were not set correctly, I don't know why maybe because the folder already existed when I installed it over the top?
