All valuable materials are used on NOTA home page[/url] or in of the same page. Good screens will be used on manual pages.

HOW TO CREATE SCREENSHOTS (VIDEOS)

- you can use printSc button, F12 or special key, if using fraps
- you can easily prepare scenarios for screenshots by using cheats - write in console:

• /cheat - to enable cheats
  /nocost - to build units and buildings free (res,time)
  /godmode - to be able to give units and control all players
  /team <number> - to change number of the team you command
  /give <howmany> <unitname> (<team>) - to give specified amount of units of specified type to specidied team. Last varaible is optional - example - "/give 1 bug5" give 1 Dustbug to currently contrloed team on cursor place

- remember, you cannot use cheats when using autohost
- change camera view by CTRL + F1/F2/F3/F4
- removing GUI and other annoying stuff - F5
- if making video, off sounds with F6 if you want
- put off healtbars in widget setup - F11 or use F9 for it (EliteSoldier info)
- save your images to png (not jpg) and send to pepe or upload here

BEFORE START!

I know not all people have experince with photo making. Read some tutorial first if you have no basic experience with camera from real life for example:

WHICH SCREENS ARE NEEDED

- screenshots that shows variety of units

• - some detailed screen of nice modeled unit
  - some screen including some superweapon
  - screen covering line of units of one factory
  - spacebugs in different situations
  • - queen is comming
    - one roost in the land
    - many bugs running on the base
    - bugs attacked by napalm strike (example1)

- screenshots that shows different levels of fight

• - scout fight
  - tech1 bots VS tech1 bots (classic - hammers/thuds, peewees...)
  - tech1 bots VS tech1 bots (not classic - zippers flanking,...)

As i already sad (and did nothing yet dam..) i have some video editing skills with sony vegas studio i uploaded 26 mostly gaming vids and there are more than 450+ nota replays so... :)

I specified only screenshots list (i can say systematicaly a bit) but videos are welcomed, too. Im busy now to make the same meterial for it, so I put only few notes for videomaking:

1) We need real short good intro (pendrokars one is too long and lazy for public shows).

2) Most appriciated will be now some match replay (like penrokars one on Tempest map - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... BsKcFzHuPA - heap of good ideas and moments catched there, but made in one_watch_and_render mode, so this model can be polished). I can provide players statistics with rank icons that Im using for my dotz wars videos.

3) Choose of match is on you, but I prefere:
- tournament games
OR
- 1v1 of good players
OR
- epic games (long game, 3v3+)
OR
- some game where some nice aspect of our game is used and rest of match is not porcy crap.
Nice aspects are listed in screenshots propostions = everything, why is NOTA good (variety of units, special tactics,...), every game startscreen can be inspiration, too.

4) .... maybe some document about life of Spacebugs wouldnt be bad

Ok for intro i would prefer these references:
Sure sort like 1:50 max? Most action, showing key features of nota which differs from other mods. Fire range of units, micro use, navy, scale of units, non boosting factory production, real feel from battle, coop moments,(suggest more...) some T3 and T4 gameender attacks(units/buildings) in really short shots on end...

..also show many maps if possible at least desert snow grass...

dunno what is or mean one_watch_and_render mode...
those ranks would be nice is there nay place i get search them? (rank icons ok as for official nota lobby/community too ?)

My intention was to make two or more videos - one good intro + 1_or_more match replays (speciefied by note no. 3). Using materials from different matches for intro video is expected.

So now the intro then:

Scenario:

- this depends on fantasy of creator - we can make ordinary video that somehow copy normal timeline of game (small units, basic eco, first battles, teching, adanced and sea fight, airfight, superweapons...) or use some other way (based on story of one unit for example). Both ways are correct, not ordinary way need some experience, scenario doesnt need to be so robust for first way.

Appereance:

1) yes - different types of maps.. (i suggest Paradise_Lost - nice colors of tropical sea, Frozen Fortress - frozen land + it reminds Hoth style defences, DeltaSiegeDryRevX (with water or without), Tau_Dry or Tumult (nice sand color and desert) They can be shown easily by walking one or few hammers and only the place where they walk is changing behind them. The number of maps shouldnt be big, 4-5 is optimum and returning on them with other scenes later is good way how to make video coherent.

2) NOTA is specific with its navy and airfight system + Spacebugs. Other things can be still called similar to BA for example. Try to take more attention to the GAME specific things.

3) Yes, some epic fight is needed, supertechs are needed, too, but try to make video that captures more ordinary game (T1 units fight, airdrops, mobile guns, raidings!).

  [-] - army = only air (it looks NOTA is only about planes), and it takes a lot of video time to make it

• [++] - good choose of match (many tactics, good game points)
  [++] - nice voice, no silly bullshits
  [+] - clever choosing events of interest of this match
  [+] - revealing game basics (manual potencial)
  [+] - Godde and Danil Killer!
  [-] - not using the LOS or radar view sometimes to demonstrate some facts (just talking about)
  [--] - not used icon view for big map distance (spectator have not strategic view of match, dont know the territory holding - map is small for such purpose)
  [--] - adverstisment at the beginning of the video

Not sure about your intentions with these (if any), but if you want to promote NOTA, maybe you should create shorter videos? 1v1/2v2 games tend to be below 10 minutes most often.
Either that or have games go 2x/3x speed.

I'd really like to see what NOTA is about but I've no time to sit through a 40min video.

• "more info..." - just look at the list of scenes in first post, choose some of them, use them as a script, and do screens showing "it"
• "website or inside gallery?" - gallery
• "game or mod?" - its hard question, not solved for me... :) but modDB and indieGame pages works the same, so before we make such decision, doesnt matter for which page you prepare it
• "example" - i dont like it much, its overcomplicated for me, to many images, content/information is lost in that huge graphic mess

This gif is about player OWL which couldn't change his TD-addict building defences like completely brainless guy. Almost every player tried to help him/teach him that NOTA is not about defences but he didnt listen. He played so bad ignoring all advices and upset so many players i decided he deserve to have this meme-gif. After 4 months long suffering something changed and he jumped from the worst player in NOTA history to almost pro class. OWL is still sometimes a bit weird but for his incredible progress he is now NOTaLEGEND.
