I would point out it does work with non-github repositories, though you need to login via github as identification. So many people dissed it saying they wouldn't use it because they didnt want to host all their repos on github ( erm you dont have to )

whatever helps people start using bash is fine by me;
however using the command line is probably smarter once you start using it more often
