IceUI provides basic statistics during the game about the players on your team, or all if you are spec.

Yes, and that made it useful and not bloated with junk.

The current ingame stats are super cool, but the presentation is awful.

Simple color changes would make them much better. However, the devs have chosen to ignore me on this.

and we have scoring stuff for this. Yet I doubt half of the people here tried it. :P.

Honestly, I could link the thread but why should we illuminate them jools :P.

Feel free to personal attack me all you want in pm, no point in derailing your own thread.

Ok, the ingame stats are not bad, I can not say that. But they are not 100% useful. For example, most people just look at the graphs of damage dealt and metal/energy used. That's 3 out of like 25 categories. The rest of the categories are not linearly uncorrelated, so that's why you get 90% of the information by looking at just 3-4 variables. Mathematically, that means that the parameters are not exact in measuring what we want to see.

Furthermore, just looking at the graph of who dealt a lot of damage at a certain time is not so useful, as long as we do not know more about what kind of damage it was. What if two people are constatntly shooting at each other while being repaired? That's dealing damage but in the end, nothing happens.

So in this respect (and like I told in the thread about scoring), just counting the totals is just as useful as looking at the graph. And if that total can include a split over damage dealt to which players, then that's more information. I hope we could extend the default graph with a tab containing this info.

Someone out there must be better at bitching. Oh, those Devs, just have a few Evo Newcomers drop by a day, asking for this and that, and suddenly the ForbRant is all but forgotten, pageranked by his own customers.

My "users" are too busy spamming my comment systems over why xyz obscure linux distro isn't "supported" or why they have to join the lobby to play vs a bot, or why it won't run on their 10 year old laptop to do anything remotely useful.

if something like features 1.0 is missing, that awfully sounds like some flaw not caused by some linux. Well, and some of them try it with ubuntu or windows.. and still dont get ingame as it seems.

Wouldnt mention the lemmning parade, if it werdent for me hanging around in that channel, getting those echos of "Hello, anybody here!" "XYZ wont load!" "Were is the singelplayerbutton!" Not even a tutorial link in the channeltopic.. so i usually send them towards the google group. Dont know if they ever arrive, or just die on the way. Just sayin, you have a game, you have potential players, you squander a wealth others here can only dream off.

All that stuff is available via the website, and all the major hubs (Website, google plus, wiki, youtube) link to each other.

Also, forums.evolutionrts.info goes to the google group.

There used to be a very detailed channel topic, till licho/aegis "accidentallied it".

Also, when users join and ask questions like that, tell them to click on the welcome tab. It's right there in their lobby (notalobby) and puts them at the wiki.
