I know the white sand doesnt fit with the red rock, but it looks so good.

Some gameplay notes:

Starting mexes are worth 1.7, all other expansion mexes are worth 2.
Grabbing the buttresses with air is always a good start.
Fleas cant pass even the shallowest water.
Map is kbot heavy, though vehicles can go everywhere except the buttress tops.
Even though the map seems porcy, there are many lanes of attack that cant be easily porced up.
The metal and energy in features is very limited.

My enthusiasm for this map was just ruined by the fact that it is not ssmf...

Take a closer look. It IS ssmf. But its toned down on areas that have high detail smf texture so as not to clash too hard with high noise. I wanted to keep unit recognition up (on Sacrifice the ssmf is a bit too strong and makes units hard to identify.

Wow, another great map. I have to say I'm really excited to see you back to doing the much more natural-looking ramps. I think they look a lot better than what SC2 does.

Keep the white/red contrast too, it looks good.

Looking at this image

http://beherith.eat-peet.net/stuff/colorado2.jpg

If I cut the sky out of the picture it looks gorgeous. Otherwise I'm baffled that such a brightly illuminated landscape sits underneath such a dark sky, it's like the landscape is glowing and the water's been filled with white and cyan paint and illuminated by unseen lights.

If you make any adjustments to this map or fix any bugs, ammend the sky! It looks like a beautiful sunny day with a dim evening clouded sky

Image
its not that unusual to have pieces of brightly iluminated landscape (in last sunlight) under a darkening sky at sundown

behe, great work. I was sceptic at first.. and some minor details are still wrong (river side smoothes the forms, mountain cliff shows sharp edges: features) but the overall work.. is breath taking.

In that image the sky is quite light actually, it fits with the landscape better.
