I dont think tighter moderation efforts by moderators is a good idea. In this sort of community, it will simply mean two thigns, a) more flame and fustration, b) more of the existing fustration and anger is directed towards the new mods.
By using a moderator enforcing policy you're inviting rebellion, I of all people should know.
However subtle thigns would eb godo mdoerator wise. For example, forcing people nto to swear and make obscene statements. Many a time I've asked for words to be censored, and there's good reason behind ti too. Many a time I laoded a page on this forum in school and someone ahd posted a bad word and the system fitlered out the entire clan-sy.com domain for the rest of the day (then they blocked it permanently alogn with FU and so on).
It's also a deterrent, why flame with the most obscene words if your words are censored and replaced with asterixes and symbols?

For best mapper, runecrafter gets my vote.
Some good points Alantai, good ideas too. I'm not sure I would like somethinmg that says I'm a mapper under my name personally. I don't want to attempt to look more special or whatever than I am. And I really don't want to have ppl feel as though I think I'm better than them just because I've made some maps.
I dunno tho. Most of the time I prefer to go unnoticed (you wouldn't get that impressions if you've paid attention to me lately, but usually I have a reason for everything I do).
Good posts AF. I would just like a more friendl atmosphere. Hell me and drexion argue all the time but he is a great guy and a good friend so no love lost. Healthy debate is good ;P

I was thinking everyone who contributed would ahve one, which means a fairly large percentage of the nonflamers, you'd onyl need to produce 1 thign and it'd be there, you could say you dont want it or people could collectively pool together to voice a complaint to have it taken fromy uo if you're udneserving (in whcihc ase I'd say onyl let people who've cotnributed be able todo that).
If some guy comes along and starts making outlandish complaints, just point out that he hasnt contributed and ignore.
If somebody contributes but nto in the way fo actual material, such as reviewing, generatign amsses of feedback, beta/play testign then people who ahve cotnributed could put them up for a title as such.

I think it would lead to more frustation, anger, insults, and fight, because, for one people who get the "best mapper" award, there will be fifty angry people who think they deserved it and only missed it because they were slandered.
