Western Mod
My buddies and I play the 1944, and other mods. We have discussed, how cool it would be, to play a Western Mod. Cowboys and Indians. Don't know how many of you on here, update your mods built. If you do update every month or so often. Is that a possible mod to work on?
If you did the Star Wars Mod. You don't update at all.

Re: Western Mod
I assure you there is no lack of ideas. It is not that noone has thought of a western mod, it is that noone who would create anything has the time or inclination to create it.
Unless you want to learn how to create it and will do so yourself I think this ends the thread.

cowboys and aliens
Re: Western Mod
Well thank you for the input you guys. Maybe we will just go ahead and build the mod. Not like the guys I play with, don't know a thing. We have built maps for TA and other gaming systems in the past. Thanks again for the input!
Re: Western Mod
YOU CAN DO IT! pm me if you got questions!

Looks like a moderator removed some posts in here >_>
A long time ago, there was such a mod.
I do remember playing a western themed Spring mod.
Sure, it was super crude, and "using TA models as place holders", but otherwise still proposed fresh gameplay/weapons/units/economy/dynamics.
There isn't much trace of it on the forum, barely enough to find back that the mod was named "Open Frontier" and its author was Noruas.
It's even still up for download at Jobjol: http://springfiles.com/spring/games/open-frontier (Warning: Will not work with current Spring. Don't even attempt unless you're a modder and able to fix.)

Re: Western Mod
Sometimes, I wonder what's the point of writing informative posts, considering how they aren't read.
