you know what i ve been thinking about all the time.. spring would be a real cool tool to teach people programming...
you have (if the unit is ingame allready.. near instant results...) and way more impressive then hello world..
first some crack, and when the are hooked.. well, this is my friend upspring, if you want another smoke you better dont upset him...

Re: Want some exposure for Spring....
Was the post much much much better than your previous one?
Re: Want some exposure for Spring....
"thousands of units per game" seems a pointless exageration. it implies that there will be 1000s of active units. This isn't always the case.
Re: Want some exposure for Spring....
advanced interface?
i'd be surprised if i'm the only one few who'd prefer simple starcraft 1 interface to what we have in zk
the build menus at least are much less annoying than these gestures i never really want to use

Re: Want some exposure for Spring....
Compared to other strategy not spring games; all the lua widgets
but you can have 1k and that is a technical showcase AND where else can this be done? the niche "strategy" market..

Force yourself to learn gesture-based hotkeys. I use keyboard-only mode, and 'alternate layout'. The hotkey to enter menu is 'D', and uses the surrounding keysgajop wrote:advanced interface?

WER
SDF
XCV
to navigate.
It's a bit of a pain at first, like using new hotkeys always is, but the payoff is massively worth it.
Re: Want some exposure for Spring....
I *love* the gesture menu personally, although I always invoke it through the "b" key.

Re: Want some exposure for Spring....
I've been trying to fix up the giantbomb page but it seems to be really inappropriate. Most categories on the right have choices from a preset list of options so I could not enter any developer or publisher (not even 'None' or 'Independent'). The Platforms category has an option PC that encompasses Windows, Mac and Linux so we can't get points for saying it is a Linux game.
Only 50 words are allowed for the description which is basically useless. Other games have whole pages so maybe we should try to find our how they did that.
