i hated it then, and i hate it now... buggy, crappy garbage. it would never have taken off without them man-handling counterstrike 1.6 into it. we've talked about this before, you've never had a problem with it, but many many many people have.Forboding Angel wrote:If you remember when steam came out, it was a blessing because owning physical copies of shit sucks.
recently, after steam updated, it seemed as if my password have been changed. i re-installed, i spent hours on the steam support forum and on their ticket thing, and got nowhere. it was only by visiting a somewhat shady website that i discovered the problem was local... all i had to do was delete an .ini file that was somehow untouched in the uninstall.
WHY was it not on their main site? hundreds of comments showed that people had the same problem (not to mention people who didn't comment... so thousands?) and yet those jerkoffs do nothing about it.
"oh but it backs up my games" ---> put the damn things in online storage, far far away from the sticky fingers of micro-transacting middlemen.
so stop scratching your damned CDs!I bought bf1942 3 fucking times thanks to scratched cds
edit: steam -could- be good. but it's not. it's like a bad girlfriend, giving you sex but then stealing from your wallet and keeping you up at night wondering what the hell you did to deserve it.
