Cross-Platform Maps Issue

Post by gerredmano »

I managed to connect SpringLobby on one machine running Ubuntu and another running Windows. I want to start a battle between the two, and they both have the same maps loaded into the maps folder, however the Ubuntu map is showing .smf at the end (within the map selection menu) whereas the Windows version shows .sd7...

What should I do, since I cannot download the map from the Linux machine?

You unzipped the map archive (spring's content is just loaded from zip files with a custom file extension). If you download the map with your browser you _must_ always check that you save the file with either '.sdz' or '.sd7', but never 'zip'!

Actually, all I did was copy the .sd7 into the ~/.spring/maps folder. There was no unzipping on my part, and when I start the lobby the maps available for selection all end with the extension .smf.

Pretty weird. :?
