You can always make time.

A friend of mine posted this..

Make your parents smile

Some of you are young professionals or may be soon, consider your parents and the people who have helped you come this far.

Or else you may just lament it.

I understand the elderly can indeed be quite a burden, so why not process them into food?

+1 OP.

So many young people have issues with old people and don't care until they've gone and then they realize they were wrong.

parents teach their children that all that counts is their grades and how well they get paid in a future job. then they retire, and the kids follow the imprinted instructions, and only care for the job and other superficial stuff which they have gotten acustomed to over the years, cause they felt something was missing. stuff like getting drunk, and driving expensive cars, and teachign their kids the same stuff again.
and ... well, bad luck, hae?
better think first, and act afterwards. but no hurry, maybe next life.

my grandfather is a facist who still wishes for hitlergermany to win the war.
good luck for happy scenes on the atlantic beach.
Srsly, that is the good old japanese "respect the elederly" boolShit, that comes out of a society, who was catapulted from medieval culture into hightechciv within two centurys.

I agree that in the darkages old people were important though, because nobody could read, and that was the acustomed way to store information, that wouldnt change much.

I respect people who shown there value in expertise, or in friendship (thats when the rain sets in, not before).

Pretty sure that video is chiney not jap.

As far as I know old Chinese people don't live alone like that, they are too poor to afford homes for the elderly so they just live with the rest of the family and bother them until they die.. so that video is kind of geared toward some fictional(propaganda?) urban upper class who can afford such luxuries as getting rid of nagging grandmother..

This video is a beautiful reminder to not get so caught up in work etc. that you forget about loving parents who were and are supportive of you.

Pink Glasses? Anyone still in need of Pink Glasses! Get them while they still work! Create the most beautifull ilusions. Make yourself believe you can do better then your own parents raising your children. Pink Glasses! And the world becomes Disney! If you glue two psychotic wrecks together, you get a fully functional relationship! Pink Glasses, i wear them myself, and ive see myself selling them everywhere!
Pink Glasses! If they dont work, you can hand them back.
Damn, dont seem able to sell one pair these days. World is running out of naive people.
Pink Glasses. Fantasize your fairytales into reality. Just paint over the torture and crimes, doesent matter if your granduncle is a warcriminal. All that matters is that the family sticks together, so that some neurotic woman can create the ilusion of normality.
Damn, why does that cheap pink colour always tears off.
Shouldnt be made in china, by poor people, whos grandparents only insurance is there only son (they aborted a daughter twice), and who is now, after spending his best years in a factory, knowing he wont get anywhere.

yet I was sent it by a chinese american... just saying, not all things are as cut and dry as you want them to be.

either way, I think is speaks volumes about how people ignore their parents/grandparents and is a HUMAN thing no just chinese that they were speaking to.

Things with your family may be bad but there is always the hope that you can take the lessons learned and make right on the next generation. I am with you on that pic.

Try as you might your children and grandchildren might still view you with the same contempt after you express your conservative views on life 50 years from now.

It's all part of the awesome generational cycle that has made old people feel just how useless they are since the dawn of history.

i can't really say that the ammount of conservative people i know is much higher with the elderlies then it is with the younger ones.

some people think that everything that is new is bad, that is what i consider conservative. others refuse to accept everythign that is new as good, just cause it is new, but are very well able to accept good new stuff. i know 80+ year olds that are/were much better at such stuff then 90% of the young ones i know. they might say:

Didn't you study statistics during your undergrad years? You can't draw conclusions from such a small sample group!
