Did you know that there used to be a program that you can use to customise selectkeys.txt. It has been removed in recent spring versions, but the old one still works. I attach it here.
For me, spring settings gives an error to save to uikeys.txt as soon as I have customised some of its values (or maybe it was because I set it to read only in windows).
You need to customise that file anyway, because by default, someone thinks that entering the debug mode is more important than to enter the build menu. (pressing b). And the editor included in spring settings has no capture command that you can add. I like to have this mapped to c, as in original TA.

selectkeys.txt are fully integrated into uikeys.txt and you have a similar editor when pressing "Add Command" -> "Selection" in springsettings' hotkey editor.Jools wrote:Did you know that there used to be a program that you can use to customise selectkeys.txt. Could you provide more details here?Jools wrote: For me, spring settings gives an error to save to uikeys.txt as soon as I have customised some of its values (or maybe it was because I set it to read only in windows).
You can add any command you want by pressing "Add Command" -> "Custom". But I will add "capture" to the built-in commands, good point.Jools wrote:And the editor included in spring settings has no capture command that you can add. I like to have this mapped to c, as in original TA.

Here is the error I get:

That file exists there and is writeable. However, I wouldn't want the program to use my C: drive at all, it changes based on from what hard drive I launch my system.
What about the ctrl-c bug? Anyone has a fix for it? Or should it go to a separate thread?
I heard about a workaround, and that's to add that line to selectkeys.txt:
However, it's not a complete fix, because this text also selects the decoy commander, which can be annoying if you build 50 decoys (as some people do).

Code: Select all

Re: 85.0 Unit group creation keyboard bug
I've already tried this, it doesn't work for me.beamer159 wrote:I like this solution best. Just add "unbindaction specteam" to the beginning of your uikeys.txt file, which is located in Spring's root folder. By the way, does anyone know what specteam is? I don't think I've used it, but it would be nice to know what I'm disabling the hotkey for.albator wrote:unbindaction specteam
solved it
Update: My fault, I simply had to add a few spaces after the unbindaction specteam command and not have the "//" in front of it!
Thank you.
