2 suns?

Post by Sheekel »

I looked through the wiki and FAQ but couldnt find this, so is it possible to have more than one sun in the sky? And perhaps have multiple shadows off units/trees/stuff?

That would be sweet!

No, we do not have support for multiple suns, but the topic has been brought up before on several occasions.

You could use a cubemap with two suns, only problem is you can only have one shadow in one direction, for obvious reasons, so you might want to specify a sun direction thats directly above the map, this way it won`t look too strange for people with graphics cards that support shadows.

If you thought turning on shadows slowed things down, imagine it x2. Not possible with common hardware.
