SOPA

Post by Forboding Angel »

This pile of shit actually has a chance of passing. Please get you and your friends to lobby your congressman/woman.

How shocking that a stupid Texas Republican funny colors congressman would introduce this giant steaming pile of fluffy puppies.

corporations own the politicians who are run by morons who don't really understand shit and throw around buzzwords and jerk off to how brilliant they are to be born in some affluent family who had the connections to help them get a foothold in the social hierarchy.

Unless you are a sycophantic no-lifer you have 0 chance to have any say in things. Our democracy is an illusion and the 99%ers are morons.

Forb, take your medicated cake and eat it, you will feel better sedated. It's ok though because at least you are not getting beaten to death for speaking your mind OMG sumhippies got peppersprayedamericaisapolicestate etc.

seriously, if this law gets passed, I may have to shut down GRTS.

Land of the free, home of the lolwut?

Wait till idiots in your country decide to take a giant deuce all over your country and it's people and see how happy you are about it.

Oh and to directly answer you... You mean like these?:

Forboding Angel wrote:You struck a nerve of immediate irritation. Here is why.

Spring is an Engine.

Spring has many games playable on it.

The games that resemble Total Annihilation are nothing like Total Annihilation and play completely differently.

Spring is not Total Annihilation.

Spring is not an attempt to "play TA in 3d".

There is no real single player and most of the AIs you see, only work with BA (There are a few exceptions).

You mix insults with whining.
Forboding Angel wrote:It's not that it's impossible, it's that spring makes it very very difficult to do it properly. It's not like that is no wish for proper saves and loads, its that doing so is not an easy task.

Z's sp menu does it, but to get to that you have to start spring directly, which is it's primary flaw (I'm not calling it bad code, it's jsut that going via spring.exe to get to the menu is bleh, unless the lobby were ingame as well. in that case i would shut my trap).

Hi

I'm looking to start an AI in C# - i know there have been some in the past, and FA promises me it's possible, but I don't know how. Any ideas? It looks to me like CSAI is the only one made in C# - but it's old and not compatible with current versions of Spring. Is this possible? I assume I'd have to write a wrapper - how would I go about doing this? I have very little experience with Lua, and a bit in Java and C/C++ - but C# is definitely my best language - and I'd love to try to write an AI - particularly for Evolution RTS :)

Any ideas would be appreciated - thanks!

^^ This is the bulk of my posts from the past week. Why are you trying to antagonize me with your (obviously inflammatory and untrue representation of my posting habits) post?

he means the last sentence is a bit over the top and is asking you to tone it down, even though it is offtopic and all.

Moderators pleas use pm.

OT: I have been watching this closely, it may well make any and all fan projects illegal and any project that is in even arguable status can be squashed by a corporation.. such as notch vs bethseda..

I am really genuinely worried about this shit.

i only get pms once a month

anyway, SOPA is a horrible, horrible thing. and in the end? pirates will still be able to get whatever they like, whether it's by swapping discs, BBS like in the old days, cloudshare, or some other way that i cannot yet fathom

most of my piracy comes from rapidshare/megaupload these days anyway rather than torrents, and yet torrents are still the boogeymen mentioned in these industry breakdowns; not that places like icefilms or katz or wiziwig.eu won't be impacted, i just feel like pirates are always going to be a step ahead, as they have and will always be until the end of time

i doubt this bill will pass as shown in the current form given the amount of resistance from the general public, but just in case, i'm downloading a few years worth of entertainment to tide me over.

Didn't use pm because it was a general note to all (future) posters.

Anyway, Forb misunderstood and now everybody has to scroll past his unrelated quotes, which is highly annoying, remember i am posting from iphone.
