Thanks for not reading the thread!Min3mat wrote:hold shift (2x faster)
If you had cared to spend 20 seconds to read even the first couple of posts, you would have discovered that the first one suggested using shift, and one soon afterward stating that I know this.
I'm not a complete nub.
Thanks for trying, though!
On another note, is there any reason why we shouldn't be able to rotate TA-overhead view by mousing to the top corners of the screen, much like Total War is rotated? I'd be very happy if I could simply rotate the screen 180 degrees rather than mucking about with rotatable overhead, which I can never get to as good a view as TA-overhead.
Cuz it's the OTA camera. I hate to ruin my game bye spinning the camera around vildly while trying to scroll left/right and up at the same time.Felix the Cat wrote:Thanks for not reading the thread!Min3mat wrote:hold shift (2x faster)

Re: Camera Scroll Speeds
I actually think that the Overhead (TA) camera moves too slow. Since the resolution changes the scroll speed, I can't even change the resolution up to something high and have a useable game. Yes, I do know about shift but, since I have to use it for other things too I can't just eseally drop a paper weight on it, and its a little too fast for normal use. If it wasn't quite so fast I might just map that key to something else and tape that key down. To sum it up, I hope that someone adds a slider bar for scroll speed in soon.Felix the Cat wrote:The Overhead (TA) camera scrolls at maybe double the speed of the others. In the Total War style camera in particular (the one I use most of the time), the slow scroll speed is very annoying.
Is there any way to speed up scroll speeds?
Re: Camera Scroll Speeds
I just realised that I accidently combined two problems. The first problem is that there is no easy way to PERMANENTLY change the scroll speed. The second problem is that because my mouse has a low resolution, because of this, the mouse moves too slowly when the resolution is above about 1024x768. This is something that I don't think is important to fix. Sorry for the mistake.patmo98 wrote: Since the resolution changes the scroll speed, I can't even change the resolution up to something high and have a useable game. look kixxe the point is that is difficult. if it is easy dl the cvs make the change and UL it. if not pleeeease realise that u in fact have no problem with this, neither do the entire community that have been playing for a while (but 1 or 2). besides the comment of the mouse was fair play, the guy said his mouse was crap and the game didn't need to be changed for it.
Min3mat, a slider such as the one they ahve been proposing has been standard and has been included on nearly every single RTS made for a long time, OTA has it HW has it HW2 has it, Starcraft has it, CC has it, I could drone on for hours. It isnt that hard to implement either, I'm sure given some free time I could rig the OTA camera to read a multiplier value from the registry that changed the scroll speed, then tie that reg value itno the settings so people could change it, giving you the feature they want, but alas I have so many thgins todo, but someone else could do it easily.

I agree... Min, it may not be monumentally game changing, but a sensitivity slider would be nice for some people. I probably wouldn't touch it as I'm too used to the way it is already. In low screen resolutions or if you have vision problems it could be a huge hassle to have to scroll the screen up larger, as units would acctually be nearly illegible. People in those conditions might want to play much closer in, which would make the current scroll speed intolerable.

Okay, not knowing C++ and thus not being able to make changes to the code makes me ineligible to suggest even minor improvements. Gotcha. The game improves better if we just isolate the developers into their own little bubble and not tell them what people want. Gotcha. Everyone is assumed to have the same exact preferences, opinions, and computer setup as you, and as such what is good for you should be good for everyone. Gotcha. Spring is already perfect and there's no point in suggesting changes because it can't be improved upon. Gotcha.Min3mat wrote:look kixxe the point is that is difficult. if it is easy dl the cvs make the change and UL it. if not pleeeease realise that u in fact have no problem with this, neither do the entire community that have been playing for a while (but 1 or 2). besides the comment of the mouse was fair play, the guy said his mouse was crap and the game didn't need to be changed for it.
I really don't know why I even bother. This community is so uptight, it puts a lot of other very uptight ones to shame.
