From the perspective of somebody who never contributes code per se, but has put time (and an insignificant amount of money) into less direct "devlopement" of OSS, it is quite refreshing to see the emphasis he placed on wholisitic developement, and the social factors affecting propogation of OSS, particularly in the commercial context.

I do agree tho, the article definitely has the air of preaching to the converted. That said, I think there is a lot to be said for the motivational impact of a bit of back-slapping self-congratulation every now and again.
