Terrain without texture with ATI 'open-source' drivers

Post by vitosky »

Hello i have installed Spring in slackware 13.37 and i have this graphic problem with HD 4670 AGP with ATI 'open-source' driver, i have installed driconf and enabled S3TC texture compression, but not have installed libgl1-mesa-dev, becouse slackware 13.37 have mesa library package 7.92 or i must install this library?
Or this graphic problem is not S3TC texture compression related?

IIRC you'll be able to fix it by switching drivers; certainly not the first person to have this trouble. just figured i'd give you hope... someone will be along shortly to advise on which driver versions to try (or you could try searching the forum)

Switching drivers in that sense?
Installing Ati Catalyst proprietary drivers?

i guess the wiki page more up to date and not so misleading like the forum-thread:
