You didn't watch the video. However, I'll explain it to silence the frustrating you are apparently feeling. That is not clipping. that is the groundring, part of the groundflash ceg effect. It isn't clipping. that is the hard edge of an actual graphic.d-gun wrote:I added arrows to show what I mean. see where theres a hard edge? the texture is getting cut off where it meets the terrain. i've seen this in pretty much every asplosion in spring...its quite distracting

ha ha ha proper sprites. spring's weapon system is retarded and we have only certain visuals for certain weapon types. Pretty damn annoying imo.rattle wrote:explosions look good but isn't it time to replace the bullet models with proper sprites?
Your original reasoning for using models instead of sprites were that the units wouldn't fire when features were in the way. That hasn't been a problem for a long time. The only other possible reason could be ballistic behavior, but the shots are traveling so fast that ballistic or not, it really doesn't matter because the trajectory is still pretty much flat.smoth wrote:ha ha ha proper sprites. spring's weapon system is retarded and we have only certain visuals for certain weapon types. bloom would remove the contrast in colors. Considering our already ugly additive blend I don't want to see the colors lost even more. A bit of glow could help a bit but I have been asking for glow for years now.MidKnight wrote:Some selective bloom on the bottom of the explosion sprite would mask this nicely. Any way to do that in Lua?
Question: From what game/platform is it? Call Of Duty? Or Spring?SpikedHelmet wrote:Here's finished product of my old M41 I was showing awhile ago
