Don't know how to load a "Game"
I'm a newbie here, and I don't kno how to load a "game" after launching Spring. I was trying to play with AI and selected the map as well as the script but how do i select a game? I downloaded NOTA1.66. Please Help

Re: Don't know how to load a "Game"
maps go in the /maps/ folder
games go in the /mods/ folder
you should be good to go after that. spring ships with "archive mover" so that if you download a game or mod and double click it, it will file it away automatically

it was an archive, and it's still not working
Re: Don't know how to load a "Game"
for my windows pc, my spring directory is
d:\spring\
so maps will go into
d:\spring\maps\
and mods will go into
d:\spring\mods\
do NOT extract the archives using anything like winzip etc... just leave the .sd7 files as they are and put them in the proper folders
now start your lobby client (should be springlobby as a default)
at the top of the lobby click tools->reload maps/games
then click the "battlelist" tab, and to the lower right of the screen, "host new".
you'll be able to select the mod you want in the initial panel, and once the battle is created, you'll be able to set up AI and pick the map and many other things.
alternately you can run spring.exe and select AI / map / mod from the menu.
if you're still having problems please report what operating system you're using and details about exactly what is going wrong
edit: certain browsers may rename downloaded archive files to .zip so double check... if any of the files have that extension, rename it to .sd7

Actually games go in games folder. Mods folder has been depreciated. But yeah, what kaiser said.

He is trying to run it through spring.exe, right?
Re: Don't know how to load a "Game"
How old is NOTA 1.66? Because old mods are ignored by current Spring. They won't even show in the list.
Re: Don't know how to load a "Game"
nota 1.66 is curent version and works.

really needs a page for wiki on this, so long posts like kaiserj's are not needed and you just have to c&p a link for those threads...
