TA style Radar in mini map

Post by CaptainMaim »

I was hoping to know if someone has an idea yet on how to get the shadow map into the radar/LOS map... Or... If the mini map only could be affected by this mapping, with perhaps a haze to be applied to non-visible areas. (Fog of War.)

again expect a groupAI capable of doing this within the next month.

Otherwise go add it to the new GUI wiki page for jouninkomiko to see

u want SHADOWS in the MINIMAP???
it already displays; terrain, wakes, explosions, tracks
and u want it to have SHADOW???
agreed about the fog of war, pressing l gets tiresome

I guessing he means terrain shadows, we already have terrain shading in the radar map. Terrain shadows dont change often so it might not be too intensive on the cpu.

No I just mean, when you start out you can see tree shadows and unit shadows, press L and they all go away, and the game doesn't look as nice... I like seeing the shadows, sometimes it's nice to see the shadows planes and such when the units are behind the camera.. (literal foreshadowing.)
As for the mini map I just wondered if the LOS display(which displays on the mini map) could be toggled independently from the main view LOS. I don't care about tree shadows on the minimap.
