There is a whole movement trying to acustom people to eating insects. Its logic, if you think it through, there nutrition value, they make up the highest mass of living beeings on the planet, they are nearly as efficient as fish to grow.

But i think just watching them as a ressource doesent give them full justice. Some of the bugs of this planet are just to beautifull.

I've heard of bug eating being more common in other countries, but I doubt that it'll ever become that common. People are too afraid of bugs especially spiders (the fear of spiders isn't entirely unfounded either).

I think that some beetles really are pretty too. People in Egypt like to use them as jewelery and think of them as a sign of immortality.



Other uses for bugs include things like inspiration for robots.

Another interesting thing about roly polies is that the hemocyanin that exists in their blood also exists in horseshoe crabs' blood and horseshoe crabs' blood is used for sterilization procedures in the medical industry.

Yup, they have giant farms where they grow and "milk" these guys for their blood. They're quite rare in the wild tho.

Before then people going into surgery would suffer from hard to detect or sterilize against, water borne diseases like Staphylococcus aureus.
