Camera Scroll Speeds
The Overhead (TA) camera scrolls at maybe double the speed of the others. In the Total War style camera in particular (the one I use most of the time), the slow scroll speed is very annoying.
Is there any way to speed up scroll speeds?

Re: Camera Scroll Speeds
I thought that was because in settings you could change the scroll speed for cursors and the sides with the mouse? I find spring slightly slower than what i'm used to in TA but not that much, and shift held makes it faster. You must ahve your settigns setup much faster than mine though.Felix the Cat wrote:The Overhead (TA) camera scrolls at maybe double the speed of the others. This could make for a new slider to the sliderfest in the settings program

I appreciate the high regard for my intelligence contained in this statement.hrmph wrote:hold shift
In other words: I'm not a retard, dumbass. I'm talking about scroll speeds while "shifted".
Smartie also has it nailed as to Total War camera rotation speed. It's quite... exihilirating... rivaling even the greatest of extreme amusement park rides.
Then maybe your dumbass retarded self should have noted this,Felix the Cat wrote:I appreciate the high regard for my intelligence contained in this statement.hrmph wrote:hold shift

Hell No! I can't even use the standard TA camera anymore. The rotational overhead camera is perfect because it lets you look across the whole battlefield while also managing an area up close and in detail. I couldn't play dawn of war last time I tried because it only lets you look at one tiny area of a time. Other camera views are great and a good Total war camera would probably be just about as useful as the rotation overhead and easier to manage.
I use TA style all the time. I only use FPS to take glamour shots and that kind of thing. Anyway, my point here (surely I must have one....) is that I find it works fine as is, but a slider to control scroll speed would certainly be a top 10 most-wanted feature IMO.
edit: oh, don't forget about pushing the middle mouse button, eh? If you push and release the middle mouse button, it does the crosshairs thingie and you can hold down shift for much much faster movement than you'd get just as the side of the screen holding shift down. I think you can also hold down the middle mouse button to do something as well....

I would use the TArotatable, but it's got some problems which makes it really hard to play with;
You can't move it outisde the play area.
When you Control-C it puts the commander unde the camera, rather than
into the center of the view.
When you zoom it moves up rather than backward.
What I essentially want is a TA camera that is at a sharper angle to the terrain, so that I can actually make out hills while the camera is still. Because for those of us who don't have shadows, the detail in the heightmap is invisible.
