Also there gives different cancer

*One that infiltrates means it goes in other cells and destroy nerby cells
*One that destroy cells
etc...

Have you tried the holywater anema for cancer prevention? Its for no good reason fought again by the roman catholic church.

Thus the cancerous miracle thread was converted into a religous rage thread and died a natural death.

Srs topic is srs, nobody reads this so lets contribute for a change:

The last information of cancer i read about, was that there are actually more diffrent kind of cancercells. There are longtem cancercells, that are able to "hibernate" needing nearly nothing from the body to survive, and who duplicate only every half a year, very imune to medications and treatments.

The Offspring of those origincells makes up the actuall tumors, fast duplicating, ressourceconsuming (evil tumors) spreading through metastasis (tumorcells flowing through the lymph and blood-stream, attaching themselves to build daughtercancer) and "good tumors" (very slowly duplicating, just building one small knot, never leaving its shell - many of those are not even identified).

Notice that most dangerous tumors stem from cells who are under constant bombardment from "outside dangers" and have to be replaced fast (skincancer, coloncancer, livercancer, bloodcells, testicle cancer) and who keep there characteristics once cancerous (fast recovering in mass, near imune to very toxic substances, radiation survivors).

So the first way to fight cancer, is preventing it. Minimize the stress on your endangered cells (no smoking, no overdose on sun, toxic foods). Some people do not die off cancer, and mice in experiments with a 30 % reduced foodsupply were much less cancerous, than there free-food-as much as you can get co-test-subjects. Less cell duplicating, means less errors, results in those cells getting into a "survive-bad-times" mode.

Best Way to kill cancer would to kill those slow copying origin cells. How to do that, dont ask me.. you could burn them with radiation, drown them in poison, but given there hibernate mode, you rather kill the patient before those cells.

Miraculous cures, are usually found for the "decendant-cancer-cells" only. What you need, is a sort of nanotic watchmen, waiting for the day that the "grandfather of all cancer"-cells wake up, getting in, killing it with fire. Or just mark it for extraction.

So we have a long way.

PS: Panda is right on the Mitochondria beeing the Powerplant of most cells beeing no cells for themselves. Although i could imagine them beeing rather prone to defects, beeing under constant chemical stress.
Although, i admit, im no expert on bio-chemistry.

You can't really "revert" cancerous cells to normal without something like a retrovirus, and even that's probably a crapshoot.

What most treatments today focus on is trying to kill all of the cancer cells without killing the patient. It's the "all" part that's difficult. if even one remains, it's back to square one.

If anything, this "cure" could be an effective part of a multi-faceted treatment regimen.

I'm interested to see Beherith's thought on this. That guy knows his stuff.

I think that the research done at MIT on ferrying drugs to the tumor sites using polymer patches seems the most promising:

I feel sorry for people who have cancer. The only cancer that runs my family is endometriosis (cancer of the uterus and ovaries). It's never killed anyone in my family, but it can make a person infertile and can be very painful. Luckily, it can be prevented by taking birth control pills.
